AI Policy
For over 15 years, Kodeco has prided itself on publishing the best human-created tutorials, books and videos. We’ve helped thousands of people learn how to code, build their dream app, and get new jobs.
There is still enormous value in human-created tutorials, books, and videos. We will continue to publish high-quality content, created by humans, for humans. This doesn’t mean that we’re going to ignore AI. We’ll create content that helps people learn how to leverage AI in their development workflow.
We will, however, always disclose how AI was used in creating content—with our new AI disclosure box. If content has a “Published before our AI policy” notice instead of a box, then it was created before we adopted our AI policy. From October 11, 2026 onwards, every item of content will have its AI usage clearly disclosed.
Our promises to you
- Kodeco content will continue to be human-created.
- Where an AI model has been used to assist with coding, we’ll explicitly call out the model, the token usage, and the estimated API cost at time of writing.
- Any LLM usage in helping with the written content (such as proof-reading) will be clearly labelled.
- Every item of content will be human-checked and approved.
- Diagrams and illustrations will be created by people, not AI.
Explaining our AI disclosures
Every article, module and book chapter we publish carries a short note saying who or what made its words, its code and its media.
How this was made
Our AI policy- Words
- Written by the author, AI-edited

Words
This covers the prose you read, or the script of the audio you hear: the explanation, the narrative and the commentary around the code. Our contributors always write the content, but here we describe whether an AI tool was involved in reviewing it.
Code
This covers the sample code and project files. Sometimes we might use AI to create a more engaging sample application. Or the content might itself be about how to use AI in software development. Where an AI tool was used to help write code, the author will still have read, run and verified it.
We’ll also detail the number of tokens used, the estimated cost, the model and month behind that work, so you’ve got a gauge of how much AI was involved.
Media
The Media line covers diagrams, illustrations and voiceover associated with the piece of content. We believe very strongly in continuing to use our excellent illustration team to create diagrams and illustrations, so this will reassure you on a piece-by-piece basis that AI has not been used here.
For videos, we may use an AI-generated voice, either to make the narration easier to follow for learners whose first language isn’t English, or so contributors who’d rather not record their own voice can still create content. If we do, the Voiceover line will say so.
Reporting a concern
If you believe that a disclosure is wrong, incomplete or missing, please tell us and we’ll look into it, correcting the record where needed.
